Anatomical Pathology Technologist NIRFM
Job description
Facilitate the NIRFM in the administrative and practical aspects of delivering a comprehensive service. To include booking in, processing, labelling, storage and retrieval of bodies admitted to the NIRFM. Anatomical Pathology Technologist’s (APT’s). To assist the Northern Ireland Regional Forensic Mortuary management in providing a comprehensive high-quality forensic and paediatric mortuary service for HM Coroner.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the Mortuary is safe, clean and well maintained in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and regulation, including the cleaning, disinfecting and care of the mortuary and equipment.
- Work closely with the mortuary team.
- Undertake daily administration and organisation of work. Following Standard Operating procedures (SOP’s) in the reception, identification, storage and release of bodies and their clothing, personal effects, and other property.
- Compliance with Health and Safety guidance in place in NIRFM.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 2 GCSEs at grades A-C/ 9-4 to include English and Mathematics.
- At least 2 years’ experience working within a Mortuary environment.
