Job description
To supervise the Electronic Materials Managed (EMM) Supply Chain operation and the Receipt & Distribution (R&D) centre. Assist the R & D Manager in the daily operation of EMM within the Trust. Liaise with Trust staff, external Suppliers, Procurement staff and Logistics staff on a daily basis. Supervision and delegation of duties to Material Services Staff. Knowledge and use of IT Systems is essential. This includes electronic scanners, radio frequency and bar code technology.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the supervision of the Supply Chain for both stock and non -stock goods and equipment.
- Assist in the preparation of work schedules for Materials Services Staff to maximize efficiency in delivery of services to the Trust.
- To assist in the day to day management of the Receipt and Distribution centre.
- Use of Finance Procurement and Logistics system and associated hardware and software in the day to day operation of the EMM function.
- Maintenance of the general stores environment to a standard commensurate with Good working practice and legislative requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification AND 2 A’ Levels OR equivalent Qualification AND Eighteen months relevant experience supervising staff in a Procurement and Logistics environment
- OR Three years relevant experience supervising staff in a Procurement and Logistics environment.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
- This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
- PC Literacy, including regular experience and use of commercial software packages such as Microsoft Office or equivalent.
Desirable Skills
- Full member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)/ Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent professional body.
