Job description

The Rosses is a non-24-hour supported housing service based in Derry/Londonderry. We support adults living with enduring mental health challenges- ranging from depression and anxiety to personality disorders - to maintain their tenancies and live as independently as possible. We also provide general housing support to tenants from local housing waiting lists. Our team doesn’t deliver personal care or medication support - instead, we empower people with the life skills and practical help they need to thrive, whether that’s managing appointments, developing routines, connecting with others or navigating the world of housing and benefits. Every flat here is self-contained, allowing our residents to feel truly at home. The main function of the role is to assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective and efficient management of mental health & addiction services by implementing all statutory and regulatory requirements, managing the budget and resources efficiently and supporting the Manager, Deputy Manager and staff team to achieve the organisational strategy. The Senior Project Worker will assist the Manager and Deputy Manager to promote and implement Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Manager, Deputy Manager and staff team to achieve the organisational strategy. Managing appointments, health concerns, and financial needs
  • Assisting the Manager in managing the budget and resources efficiently
  • To assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective and efficient management of mental health & addiction services by implementing all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Assisting the Manager and Deputy Manager to promote and implement Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach
  • Liaising with health professionals, families and community services

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service
  • A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence. Business Insurance is a requirement for this post.
  • Professional Social Work Qualification and registered on the appropriate part of NISCC First level registered Nurse on the appropriate part of nursing and midwifery council register
  • A qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a health and social care setting
  • Or be educated to QCF/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a related subject for e.g care plus a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a social care setting
  • Experience of liaising with statutory and other voluntary agencies.
  • Have an understanding of managing monies.
  • Have proven experience of motivating Services Users.
