THE EMPLOYER IS: GORTNAGHEY COMMUNITY CENTRE This is a customer facing role and the suitable person will work alongside the Centre Co-ordinator to develop all projects and activities currently run at the Community Centre and to try new ones. Their role will involve promoting the Centre activities through the use of Social Media and capturing feedback at events and activities. To undertake all aspects of the office which would include answering emails, phones, cash handling and liaising with all visitors to the premises. The role will support committee and staff by handling clerical tasks, coordinating office activities, and maintaining organised systems and records. We are a friendly, fast moving community centre looking for an Office and Community Support Administrator to help keep things running smoothly. The successful person will be a key support person for our team, members and visitors, helping create a welcoming and well-organised environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support and document management.
  • Deal with all correspondence in a professional manner.
  • Schedule Centre bookings, meetings and maintain calendar.
  • Prepare reports, letters, presentations and other documents as required.
  • Maintain accurate records, both electronic and paper-based.
  • Support basic accounting tasks such as invoicing, banking and recording expenditure and income on spreadsheets.
  • Liaise with service user.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in a community centre, non-profit or start-up environment.
  • GCSE Maths and English.
  • Experience in an administrative role.
  • Strong organizational and time skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power point) or similar software.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Some evening or weekend hours may be needed for events.

Desirable Skills

  • Good computer skills.
  • Basic bookkeeping or accounting knowledge.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools and document management systems.
