WHSCT Higher Clerical Officer - Band 3 Audiology
Job description
The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision of efficient, effective and comprehensive clerical support to the Audiology and Hearing Aid Service.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning and booking of clinics for the Audiology Team trust wide using a unique Audiology database.
- Deal appropriately with telephone enquiries and face to face from professionals, service users, carers, relatives and other agencies.
- Responsible for the booking of Interpreters, Sensory Support staff and Education Support staff who are on occasion required to attend patient’s appointments.
- Ensuring patient notes are prepped and available for clinics
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail including postal battery service for hearing aid users.
- Responsible for the administration of ear mould orders.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English Language and Maths or equivalent or higher educational standard and 2 years administrative/ clerical experience
- Or 3 years administrative/ clerical experience
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
- This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in the Acute sector
- Experience managing the booking of appointments for a Team.
