Registered Service Manager


Job description

To hold registration to manage the service/s under Part 111 of the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations NI (2007) with sufficient care, competence, and skill. As a Service Manager you will enable service users lead full and integrated lives in the community in which they live. Through the effective management of resources and supervision of a staff team you will ensure the delivery of high-quality person-centered care and housing support to individuals with learning disabilities who may have complex health needs or who may present with behaviours of concern. The service must be delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, standards of practice and Triangle’s strategic and policy framework. Care and support must be delivered in accordance with the Association’s Core Values, Customer Service Standards and Customer Service Guide. It is essential that in line with the dof care you actively challenge any dangerous, abusive, discriminatory, or exploitative behaviour or practices that place individuals at risk.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assessment of needs, development, and implementation of service users’ care and support plans involving the service user, family, and other relevant professionals.
  • Ensure staff support service users to access and take part in a range of activities including recreational, educational, leisure, spiritual thus promoting social inclusion and integration in their local community.
  • All plans must uphold Triangle.
  • Record and review progress as per procedure.
  • Be involved and supervise staff in supporting service users with their physical care and personal hygiene needs, ensuring that their independence is maximised, and they are afforded appropriate levels of privacy and dignity.
  • Work in partnership with Triangle’s Finance Team to manage the service budget effectively within allocated areas of responsibility and authorised expenditure limit.
  • Ensure the service operates in accordance with Health and Safety policy, procedures, training and guidance within Risk assessments.
  • Participate and implement continuous quality improvement, co-operating and providing all relevant information to internal/external auditors/inspectors, promoting innovation within your team
  • Facilitate any inspections/audits and ensure all actions are completed within timescales.
  • Participate in an Out of Hours on-call rota, for which a separate on-call payment is provided, offering management support outside normal working hours to address operational issues and ensure continuity of service delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A qualified social worker registered with NISCC (without condition) Or A First Level nurse registered with NMC Or Allied Health Professional registered with Health Professions Council.
  • And have 4 years’ experience in health and social care setting with individuals with a learning disability/complex need, 2 years which must have been at operational management capacity.
  • OR Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care services (Adult Management) NI/Wales, registered with NISCC (without condition)
  • And have minimum of 5 years’ practice experience with at least 2 years’ operational management experience working with individuals with a learning disability/complex needs.
  • Full, current driving licence and use of a car which is insured for business use or can demonstrate mobility to carry out the functions of the job.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience managing a Supported Living Service and IT literacy with knowledge of the main Microsoft applications -word, excel, power Point.
