Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: SG CONSTRUCTION The Driver will support construction operations by transporting materials, tools and equipment between construction sites at various locations, the yard and building suppliers. The role is supervised and suitable for an entry-level position, with training provided on routes, safety procedures and vehicle checks.

Responsibilities

• Driving between construction sites, the yard and building suppliers.
• Collecting and delivering materials and equipment as required.
• Loading and unloading materials safely.
• Carrying out basic daily vehicle checks.
• Ensuring materials are delivered on time and to the correct location.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Following road safety, site safety and company procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Full, valid driving licence.
• Safe and responsible driving ability.
• Good timekeeping skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and delivery schedules.
• Awareness of health and safety practices.

Desirable Skills

• Previous driving or delivery experience (not essential).
• Knowledge of local roads and routes.
• Manual handling awareness.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Good communication skills.

The Employer is: SG CONSTRUCTION JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
