Finance Officer
Job description
The College is seeking applications for a Finance Officer for Externally Funded Projects to be based in our Strand Road campus. The post holder will support the effective financial management of the College by providing high-quality accounting, reporting, and compliance oversight of projects. The role includes specific responsibility for financial monitoring, control, and reporting of Externally Funded projects, ensuring that all project expenditure complies with funding requirements and College financial procedures. Projects supported by PEACEPLUS; programmes managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
Responsibilities
- To develop, implement and maintain a range of College systems and financial procedures, which provide for the efficient and effective financial management of Externally Funded Projects.
- To co-ordinate, in conjunction with Project Leads Project expenditure which is in line with the agreed budget and the College financial procedures.
- To co-ordinate, in conjunction with Project Leads the procurement of provision and services to support the delivery of Externally Funded Projects.
- To liaise with the College Finance function to ensure compliance with NDPB and governance reporting timelines.
- To maintain, in conjunction with Project Leads a monthly cycle of activity, which ensures the efficient processing of expenditure and enables the production of a monthly budget up-date.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have at least a Level 6 qualification in Accounting, Finance, or relevant Business area.
- Have at least 2 years experience working in Accounting.
- Have previous experience working with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel.
Desirable Skills
- Have previous experience working within EU Funded Projects/Funders and adhering to funder guidelines.
