Job description

Dynamic range of duties. Supporting administrative duties to 2-3 GPs in a very busy Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Answering telephones, dealing with patients, processing prescriptions, dealing with pharmacy collections
  • Copying notes and records, arranging appointments for GP and MDT staff
  • Processing incoming hospital letters.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • RSA Stage II or higher in Word/Text Processing
  • Experience of office work within last 2 years
  • Experience of working with the public
  • Effective communicator
  • Evidence of ability to develop individual learning
  • Evidence of flexibility

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in an Health Service environment
  • Knowledge of MS Word/Emis
  • Experience of using ICT equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to build effective working relationships
  • Demonstrate ability to work as a member of a team
