Process Operative


Job description

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented operatives to work within our prawn processing line. The role involves laying out prawns onto shelling machines, cleaning prawn meat to required standards, and supporting smooth production flow. Attention to detail, consistency, and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out prawns accurately onto pads for shelling machines, aiming to fully fill every pad to maintain production efficiency.
  • Rotate through cleaning duties, carefully removing all shells and legs from the prawn meat.
  • Inspect prawn meat to ensure it meets quality and hygiene standards before progressing to the next stage.
  • Work effectively as part of a team of three, supporting colleagues to meet daily production targets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and surrounding areas in line with food safety regulations.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
  • Use of protective clothing and adherence to strict hygiene standards.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately at speed.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in a food processing or factory environment is desirable but not essential.

Further Information

£14.50 per hour plus Premium of £0.50 per hour for hours worked between 10pm-6am. 2 Shift Patterns Available. Day shift: 6am-4pm Monday-Thursday 38 hour Week Night Shift: 4:30pm-2am Monday-Thursday 36 hour Week Please specify which shift you are applying for when submitting your application.
