Job description

The purpose of the role is to provide skilled joinery and carpentry support across the Eikon Exhibition Centre, ensuring the efficient construction and maintenance of building fixtures to a high standard of workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• General joinery and carpentry work across the venue
• Building temporary structures and laying of temporary flooring for various events as required
• Erection of signage and installing of barriers and fencing as required

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Education and formal qualifications relating to the role e.g. NVQ or City and Guilds (If no formal qualification relating to the role, considerable work-based experience will be considered)
• Full driving licence

Desirable Skills

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified joiner
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Experience in completing projects within tight time scales

Further Information

Work time: 39 hour per week with flexibility around busy periods.
