The Business Development Assistant will support the consultancy team in identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and delivering high-quality consultancy services. This role provides hands-on experience across business development, marketing, administration, and client engagement within a supportive Northern Ireland-based consultancy environment. Full training and ongoing guidance will be provided throughout the placement.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in identifying potential new clients and business opportunities.
- Carrying out online research into markets, competitors, and industry trends.
- Supporting the preparation of client proposals, presentations, and professional documents.
- Assisting with the creation and scheduling of social media content.
- Supporting updates to website content and monitoring online engagement.
- Helping to promote key services, events, and business campaigns.
- Maintaining and updating CRM systems, client databases, and contact lists.
- Assisting with the organisation of internal meetings, training sessions, and external events.
- Providing general administrative support, including emails, note-taking, and filing.
- Supporting outreach activities to potential partners and clients.
- Assisting with maintaining communication with existing clients and stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic IT skills, including email and document preparation.
- Ability to organise tasks and manage time effectively.
- An interest in business, marketing, or consultancy.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).
- Basic knowledge of business or marketing concepts.
- Confidence speaking with people in a professional setting.
- Experience using Microsoft Office or similar software.
- An interest in research, content creation, or customer engagement.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A professional and reliable approach to work.
