Job description

The post holder will assess, develop, implement and evaluate patient / client care, under the guidance of the line manager. Provide person-centred nursing to ensure continuity of care within agreed standards. Contribute to effective team working and supervise qualified and / or unqualified staff. Responsibilities

• Adhere to DHSSPS and NMC guidelines for practice requirements and standards, for example, safe handling, administration, storage and custody of medicinal products.
• Maintain own professional and personal development in accordance with the NMC (2015) The Code: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives.
• Establish and maintain relationships based on mutual respect communicating on a regular basis with the patient / client, relatives and carers’ in the provision of care and services.
• Adhere to Trust guidelines, policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Degree, diploma or other nursing qualification.
• Current registration on Part 1 Mental Health or Live NMC Register.
• Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
• This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by The Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
