Job description

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will undertake comprehensive health assessments, and will manage a range of illnesses and conditions that frequently present in the care settings within which the individual works. Please visit jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.

Responsibilities

• Practise autonomously, using a person-centred approach, within the expanded scope of practice.
• Demonstrate comprehensive skills for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and prescribing within the field of practice.
• Use clinical judgement in managing complex and unpredictable care events, drawing upon an appropriate range of inter-agency and professional resources in his/her practice.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and negotiate person-centred health related/care needs for patients and their families.
• Monitor and report quality issue affecting the provision of advanced nursing care delivery

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 5 years’ experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Registered on part 1 of the Live NMC Register
• Hold MSc Advanced Nursing Practice or recognised Advanced Nurse Practitioner Qualification or will complete your MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice within the next 3 months.
• Hold Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
• Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
• This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
