Job description

The Head of Quality Improvement will provide strategic leadership for the Health and Social Care Quality Improvement (HSCQI) and Project Echo. This role is pivotal in driving system-wide improvement across Northern Ireland’s Health and Social Care (HSC) system, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration. The post holder will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of regional improvement programmes, build capability and leadership for quality improvement, and champion patient safety. They will work in partnership with the Project ECHO Programme Director to enable knowledge sharing from across health and social care system. The post holder will work closely with academic institutions, national and international partners, and multidisciplinary teams to embed improvement science and co-production across the HSC.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Have a University degree or relevant equivalent professional qualification, and at least 2 years’ experience working at senior management level1 dealing with management issues relating to the establishment of a HSC learning system.
