Accounting Assistant - Credit Control
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: SM LEGEND MEDIA LTD We are looking for an accounting assistant to support our credit control team in managing and retrieving payments. You’ll be working with clients, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Chasing outstanding payments and communicate with clients regarding payment terms.
- Process card payments over the phone and set up GoCardless accounts.
- Handle client bank account information securely and confidentially.
- Use Sage software to manage accounts and track payments.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to client queries.
- Assist in verifying accounts and identifying discrepancies.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Good knowledge of Sage software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and phone skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work with sensitive financial information confidentially.
- Assertive phone manner.
- Basic understanding of payment processing and credit control procedures.
- Experience with accounting software or systems would be beneficial.

- Diplomatic and assertive communication style.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Importance of meeting payment deadlines and chasing targets.
