Senior Staff Nurse
Job description
The post holder will lead a team that demonstrates person-centred care, through role-modelling this approach to care in their own practice. In addition, the post holder will play a supportive role in leading the development of the care setting, seeking opportunities for learning and development. Responsibilities
- Role model and enable effective communication with patients and relatives to assist in their understanding of their illness, care and treatment.
- Adopt a questioning approach to existing practices and constantly seeks ways of improving care delivery based on available evidence.
- As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, co-ordinates care to ensure that it is effective and holistic.
- Participate in compiling duty rotas/annual leave/study leave arrangements to ensure that the team and the department has cover at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered General Nurse on Part 1 of NMC Register.
- 3 years’ experience as a registered Nurse, with 2 years’ in a Recovery environment.
- Evidence of relevant post registration recovery / pacu education.
Desirable Skills
- Registered Children’s Nurse.
- Relevant post registration qualification.
- Have a degree relating to Nursing Practice/health Care.
- Experience in care of post operative paediatric patients.
