Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated worker to join our team who will carry out a high standard of care and assist to meet residents' individual needs within a caring environment. Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• To provide, where appropriate, personal assistance to residents such as bathing, washing, toileting, pressure area care and dressing.
• Reporting to Nurse in Charge, untoward incidents e.g. falls, accidents, complaints etc and contributing to the maintenance of same within the established procedures.
• Supervise and assist with feeding when necessary at meal times.
• To help maintain a homely atmosphere within the Home which encourages the Residents to be as independent as possible.
• Maintain NISCC registration and comply with standards.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral to communicate effectively with residents.
• Must be registered with NISCC or be prepared to register following induction.
• Teamwork skills.
• Physically able to carryout the role.

Desirable Skills

• At least 6 months' experience in either nursing, residential or community care setting preferred.
