Job description

Operation of handling equipment on site including 38 tonne material handler for the stacking, sorting, loading and export of scrap metal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded in a safe and proper manner
• Assist with the loading and unloading of ships
• Safely stockpile various grades of scrap metal
• Ensure materials are stored in accordance with company policy
• Ensure daily checks are completed
• Attend any training courses that the company proposes
• Co-ordinate with other operatives to ensure the correct processing of all loads
• Process material to conform with grade specifications as directed by Site Supervisor
• Assist in the scheduling of inward and outward transport
• Liaise with customers, drivers and contractors who visit the site
• Ensure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy state at all times
• Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require
• Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Material Handler or Excavator licence
• Previous experience in heavy plant
• Able to work flexible working hours to include occasional nights and weekends
