Club Participation Officer
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: IRFU ULSTER BRANCH The Club Participation Officer is responsible for assisting with the provision of rugby development services on behalf of Ulster Rugby, specifically to help develop participation throughout the province and to assist with the delivery of specific outreach programmes alongside the existing Rugby Participation team. Reporting to the Rugby Participation Lead, the post holder will build effective working relationships with Rugby Development staff, participants of the game and clubs, schools andcommunity organisations. This role is primarily based at Affidea Stadium, 134 Mount Merrion Avenue, Belfast, BT6 0FT but will involve some travel to rugby events held at various venues across the province of Ulster.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the delivery of rugby blitzes, extravaganzas & competitions.
- Assist with the delivery of participation schemes to promote and develop participation in Rugby as an extracurricular activity.
- Alongside the Participation Rugby Lead and/or Rugby Participation Officers, visit local schools with the aim of promoting and developing all facets of the game of rugby union in a positive, safe & healthy manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities undertaken.
- Completion of regular & ad hoc reports in a timely, accurate & competent manner as requested by the Participation Rugby Lead. Submit these fully completed reports within agreed timescales.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Willing to undertake rugby coaching training as necessary.
- Willing to undertake an Access NI check.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Eligible to live and work in the UK.
- Access to a form of transport that will allow the postholder to meet the requirements of the post in full.
Desirable Skills
- Experience (including voluntary or informal experience) assisting with sport or physical activity sessions in schools, clubs, or community settings such as sports days, youth sessions, club events or similar participation-focused activities.
