Logistics Support Officer
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: MJM MARINE Logistics Support Officer will ensure the smooth running of logistics operations. It combines independent work with team collaboration to maintain effective transport and logistics processes. MJM Marine is a progressive, flexible and rapidly growing specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor. The business has built a reputation for excellence and innovation by delivering major marine projects for local and global clients and due to significant growth, the opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Support Officer to join the team at our Newry Office. Successful applicants can participate in education, training as is necessary, to enable them to carry out their role and to support the company’s objectives.
Responsibilities
- Organise Courier shipments as directed.
- Record and track freight movements.
- Creating and providing commercial invoices for freight movements.
- Register Customs and Excise commodity codes.
- Prepare paperwork for regulatory bodies.
- Co-ordinate drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys as required.
- Ensure the company vehicles are fully roadworthy at all times.
- Drive vehicles for deliveries and collections if required.
- Operate IT systems including D365, MS Excel and Word.
- Work on own initiative and be part of the team.
- Carry out all other duties within area of responsibility as directed by management.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed by the Logistics Manager and Co-Ordinator’s.
- Effective upward reporting to senior manager.
- Early identification of any issues that may affect the successful delivery of the project.
