Workforce Planning Manager


Job description

To ensure Inspire Wellbeing’s range of community, day and housing services across our Care & Support directorates are staffed safely and effectively, by having full oversight of rotas, forecasting staffing needs, and assisting with coordinating cover for sickness, holidays, and training. The postholder will play a key role in ensuring continuity of care, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support service managers and teams to ensure effective rostering on People Planner in line with staffing ratios, risk assessments, and individual care needs.
  • Ensure that all services are fully utilising People Planner and scheduling appropriately.
  • Proactively plan cover for annual leave, sickness, training, and other absences.
  • Analyse historical staffing data to identify trends and inform future workforce planning, including emerging training or compliance needs.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans for staffing emergencies or service disruptions.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A full current driving licence and access to a car is essential. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
  • Flexibility to meet the requirements of the role. The post holder may be required from time to time to work outside core business hours (9am-5pm).
  • A 3rd level qualification and 2 years’ experience of workforce planning and rota co-ordination across multiple sites Or,
  • 3 years’ experience of workforce planning and rota co-ordination across multiple sites.
  • Proficient in rota management software.
  • Demonstrable experience of forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Skilled in analysing workforce data and producing accurate, easy-to-understand workforce reports.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.
  • Demonstrable experience of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
