Trainee Plasma Operator
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: LAGAN ENGINEERING LTD The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining plasma cutting equipment to cut metal components accurately and efficiently in line with engineering drawings, production schedules, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC or manual plasma cutting machines.
- Load and unload metal sheets and plates safely.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and cutting programs.
- Select correct cutting parameters, consumables, and materials.
- Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and defect.
- Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of plasma equipment.
- Identify and report machine faults or quality issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Follow company procedures and health & safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Basic understanding of plasma cutting.
- Material identification.
- Understanding nesting layouts.
- Using measuring tools.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Basic cut quality checks.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn.
