THE EMPLOYER IS: SPORTS GROUND SPECIALISTS LTD The Trainee Pitch Layer will support the installation and maintenance of sports surfaces, including pitches, running tracks and tennis courts. The role involves working outdoors under the supervision of experienced staff and assisting with ground preparation, surface installation and maintenance tasks. Full training and supervision will be provided, making this role suitable for an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the installation of sports pitches and other sports surfaces.
• Preparing ground surfaces and materials.
• Supporting maintenance and repair works on existing sports surfaces.
• Using tools and equipment under supervision.
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Assisting with loading, unloading and moving materials.
• Following health and safety procedures at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to carry out physical outdoor work.
• Awareness of basic health and safety practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

• Interest in construction, groundworks or sports surfaces.
• Previous outdoor or manual work experience (not essential).
• Basic knowledge of tools or machinery.
• Manual handling awareness.
