Job description

Working with our test and support team to help deliver world-leading test and measurement systems, the Electronics Engineer will be involved in the development of new products and the enhancement of the existing product portfolio. Reporting to the Customer Support Manager, this position will be based in our Factory in Carrickfergus. This role may some element of travel.

Responsibilities

• Test and implement hardware designs
• Test and implement embedded software/firmware
• Work as part of a team of hardware and software engineers to provide solutions for stakeholders
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high quality systems which meet their requirements
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that specifications are met
• Develop documentation for stakeholders and the website as required
• Communicate stakeholder needs, issues and possible product enhancements to the engineering team
• Carry out any other task that may be required from time to time

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Educated to a minimum of HNC level in Electronics or similar
• Ability to liaise and communicate with external customers in English in a clear and professional manner
• Valid passport, full driving licence and the ability to travel
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
• Be able to work independently, be able to manage time and set priorities
• Be able to pay attention to detail
• Strong teamwork qualities as well as communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

Desirable Skills

• 1 year in a technical role
• Experience in repairing PCBs
• Good soldering and wiring skills
• Relevant knowledge of electronic components
