THE EMPLOYER IS: WOMEN’STEC Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Project Officer will assist with the administration, development and delivery of programmes and activities within WOMEN’STEC. WOMEN’STEC is a social enterprise based in North Belfast and was born out of a recognised need for the creation of non-traditional training and employment opportunities for women in industries traditionally associated with men, including construction, engineering and IT. The postholder will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop experience in a growing community and voluntary sector in a supportive and progressive organisation. The person appointed must be supportive of the values and ethos of WOMEN’STEC and the promotion of equality.

Responsibilities

  • To support the Programme Manager in the administration and delivery of programmes for women.
  • To support the Programme Manager to ensure programmes are effectively and continually monitored and evaluated .
  • To support the Programme Manager at events.
  • Contribute to and develop ideas for engaging workshops, programmes and events under the programme aims.
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with programme participants during events and activities.
  • Support the Programme Manager with recruitment, timetabling, and programme planning.
  • Attend meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes.
  • Support the Programme Manager to develop pathways of progression for women into apprenticeships, further training, or employment.
  • To undertake such other reasonable duties as WOMEN’STEC may from time to time require.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience of carrying out administrative task.
  • Experience of using IT packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook (email and calendar).
  • Good planning and organisation skills including attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, balancing priorities, and using own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within and across teams.
  • Strong communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of using shared drives / cloud-based file and document management.
  • Experience of data inputting.
  • Experience of working in the voluntary and community sector.
