Studio Assistant

THE EMPLOYER IS: WOVEN LIBRARY This role is assisting a local designer of an independent clothing and accessories brand and is based in a creative studio in Broughshane. As an up and coming brand the candidate’s tasks would involve assisting with the development and production of new garments and accessories and helping with the overall progress of the business. As well as pattern cutting and sewing there is the opportunity to be involved in styling products for photoshoots, helping with pop-up shops and events and assisting with the everyday running of the studio.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the development and production of garments and accessories for a small clothing brand.
  • Cutting fabrics and sewing.
  • Organising and maintaining sewing studio.
  • Assisting with product photoshoots and social media development.
  • Assisting with fabric sourcing.
  • Organising and tracking stock.
  • Packing and shipping orders.
  • Assisting with local events and pop-ups involving the brand.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Competent with machine sewing.
  • Competent with hand sewing.
  • An understanding of fabric cutting and garment construction.
  • Good organisation skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with adobe illustrator.
  • Experienced pattern cutter.
  • High level of skill with garment construction.
