THE EMPLOYER IS: GEMX The Digital Communications Officer is responsible for planning, creating, and managing digital content and platforms to strengthen the online presence and public engagement of GEMX. The role oversees website content, social media channels, digital campaigns, and online communications, ensuring consistent messaging, brand alignment, and effective audience reach. The officer supports media development, marketing initiatives, and stakeholder communication through strategic use of digital tools and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement communication strategies.
  • Manage and update the website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and current.
  • Create, edit, and publish digital content across websites, social media, email, and other online platforms.
  • Manage social media accounts, including content scheduling, audience engagement, and performance monitoring.
  • Support marketing and branding initiatives through digital campaigns and online promotions.
  • Coordinate media development activities, including multimedia content (graphics, video, basic design).
  • Monitor digital analytics and prepare performance reports to inform strategy and improve outreach.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging, tone, and visual identity across all digital platforms.
  • Support internal and external communications with stakeholders, partners, and the public.
  • Stay up to date with digital communication trends, tools, and best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Digital Content Creation - Ability to write, edit, and adapt content for websites, social media, and general campaigns.
  • Social Media Management - Managing platforms, scheduling content, engaging audiences, and analysing performance.
  • Web Content Management - Updating and maintaining websites using WordPress.
  • Digital Marketing & Campaign Planning - Supporting online marketing initiatives, promotions, and audience growth.
  • Analytics & Reporting - Using digital analytics tools to track performance and inform communication strategies.
  • Driving licence and have access to a car.

The Employer is: GEMX JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information - Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. - Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. - Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
