Job description

We are currently seeking a Cook for Antrim Area Hospital. This position is 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days a week including weekends, with 7.5 hour shifts between 7.30am and 7.15pm. The pay rate is between £12.75 to £21.55 per hour. This is a temporary position for three months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals in line with menu plans and dietary requirements.
• Ensuring high standards of food quality and full compliance with hygiene, food safety, and HACCP regulations.
• Receiving, storing, rotating, and serving food safely, maintaining correct temperatures at all times.
• Monitoring stock levels, assisting with ordering, stock rotation, and minimising waste.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen and service areas, including equipment and work surfaces.
• Recording and reporting key information such as temperature checks, portion control, equipment faults, and service data.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• City & Guilds 706 Catering (or equivalent).
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Hands-on experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Good working knowledge of CoSHH regulations.
• Experience working in a fast-paced catering environment.
