THE EMPLOYER IS: DALZELLS OF MARKETHILL Join the Home Appliances team at Dalzells of Markethill, providing excellent customer service and expert advice on a wide range of products. You will assist customers in-store, over the telephone and email, and process sales using our EPOS system. Responsibilities include merchandising, maintaining an attractive sales floor, and supporting stock management. The ideal candidate is friendly, organised, and confident in helping customers find the right solutions while delivering a professional and welcoming shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service, offering advice and guidance on home appliances.
  • Assist customers in-store, by telephone, and via email.
  • Process sales accurately using the EPOS system.
  • Maintain and merchandise products to ensure an attractive and organized sales floor.
  • Support stock management, including receiving deliveries and stock rotation.
  • Handle customer queries and after-sales support professionally.
  • Stay informed about new products, promotions, and industry trends.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve sales targets.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Confidence using telephone and email to assist customers.
  • Competence with EPOS systems and basic IT skills.
  • Strong merchandising and stock management abilities.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving and handling customer queries professionally.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous retail or sales experience.
  • Knowledge of kitchen styles, designs, and interior choices.
  • Experience in visual merchandising or display planning.
  • Ability to upsell and promote additional products or services.
  • Basic numeracy for handling sales and stock records.
  • Familiarity/proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Problem-solving skills for complex customer enquiries.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and product knowledge development.
