Payroll Systems Support Officer
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: PMB ACCOUNTANTS LIMITED The successful candidate will carry out a range of administrative tasks related to the payroll, including processing pay cycles, responding to payroll-related enquiries and resolving system issues or payroll discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll processing activities across regular pay cycles, ensuring accuracy and timelines.
- Prepare, validate, and maintain payroll data prior to and following payroll runs.
- Provide support for payroll systems and software, including setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees or clients, including payslips, deductions, leave balances, and entitlements.
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with legislative requirements, company policies, and data security standards.
- Support compliance obligations such as tax, superannuation, and statutory payroll reporting.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and system issues, escalating complex matters when required.
- Assist with user onboarding and basic training for payroll systems.
- Contribute to improvements in payroll processes, controls, and system efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Good IT skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills.
Desirable Skills
- Proficiency with cloud payroll software specifically brightpay.
- Understanding of payroll and PAYE system.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple task simultaneously.
