Sous Chef
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: BDMK LIMITED The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. This is a hands-on position suited for someone passionate about food and eager to grow. You will be part of a growing team with the opportunity to move up to Senior Sous Chef.
Responsibilities
- Ensure dishes consistency to head chef’s dishes.
- Clean & organise food preparation areas.
- Monitor kitchen area to ensure sanitation standards are maintained.
- Ensure that all food products to be prepared are rotated, labelled appropriately & not expired.
- Assist & support Head Chef with day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Assisting with ordering & management of stock.
- Ensure that health & hygiene procedures are implemented & continually adhered to.
- Adherence to COSHH regulations.
- Attendance to monthly staff training sessions is compulsory.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have the ability to work & train on every section of the cook line.
- Ability to learn & understand new cooking techniques.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- At least Food & Hygiene Level 2 training & Allergy Awareness course completion.
- Good standards of culinary skills, presentation & attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
- Calmness under pressure.
- Problem solving & adaptability skills.
- Good team player.
Further Information
The Employer is: BDMK LIMITED JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Flexibility in shift patterns. Suitable for family life as kitchen is open within school hours.
