Finance Officer
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: TOWNSEND ENTERPRISE PARK LTD. To support the efficient and effective delivery of day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Process purchase and sales invoices, payments, receipts, and expense claims accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including filing and audit trails.
- Carry out bank and control account reconciliations.
- Assist with budget monitoring and provide financial information.
- Support the preparation of basic financial reports and summaries.
- Use accounting software Xero and spreadsheets to record and manage financial data.
- Assist VAT returns, grant claims, and year-end processes where required.
- Respond to finance-related queries from staff and external stakeholders.
- Support internal controls and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience in a finance or accounts administration role.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Ability to use accounting software, preferably that of Xero and spreadsheets (e.g. Excel).
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in the charity, public, or community sector.
- Budget monitoring or reporting experience.
- Knowledge of VAT, or grant funding.
- Studying towards or holding a finance qualification.
