THE EMPLOYER IS: AC MARRIOTT BELFAST In this role you will play a key part in providing an exceptional welcome to our Guests ensuring they are looked after and attended to in a timely and professional manner. You will clean guest bedrooms and bathrooms and ensure linen is laundered and amenities are replenished. Complying fully with all regulations relating to Health & Safety, Food Handling, Fire Procedures and COSHH.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain the bedrooms and public spaces in line with the required hygiene and cleaning standards of the hotel. Provide guests with laundry services. Order stock and replenish the minibars in guests' rooms.
  • Carry out standard facilities management tasks for clear requests.
  • Operate basic equipment and machines and carry out routine tasks. Involves following strict, detailed instructions.
  • Help to maintain and repair equipment and appliances by carrying out preparations and providing assistance while following strict, detailed instructions.
  • Carry out operational tasks by following established processes. Involves working within given settings or parameters.
  • Follow basic mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
  • Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
  • Work Scheduling and Allocation Work according to an assigned schedule.
  • Provide basic customer service support and exchange basic information with customers by having courteous interactions with them, always maintaining service standards.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Learning the step-by-step procedures to clean and present guest rooms/bathrooms and public spaces to brand standards (beds, amenities, vacuuming, dusting, sanitising).
  • Learn hazard symbols, PPE, dilution/handling, storage, and emergency actions for cleaning chemicals in line with UK COSHH expectations.
  • Correct lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling techniques and safe use of trolleys/carts to reduce injury risk during physically demanding tasks.
  • Practising friendly, professional communication when approached in corridors/public areas responding to requests and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Spotting safety hazards/defects and swiftly reporting issues; following lost and found processes to protect guests and property.
  • Keeping carts and storerooms clean, organised, and properly stocked for efficient room turns and end-of-shift resets. Infection.
  • Consistent sanitation practices across high touch surfaces and washrooms to elevate cleanliness outcomes and guest satisfaction.
