THE EMPLOYER IS: KIPPIE CIC The Games Marketing, Community & Programme Support Assistant will support the promotion, marketing, and audience development of in-house game projects and creative learning programmes delivered by the organisation. The role combines hands-on marketing activity, online community management, and administrative and programme support, contributing to both commercial game releases and youth-focused game-making courses. The postholder will assist in planning and delivering marketing campaigns for games developed in-house, including creating and scheduling content for platforms such as Discord, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and the organisation’s website and mailing lists. They will support the growth and moderation of online communities, helping to maintain safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces for players, learners, and partners. This includes responding to comments and messages, enforcing community guidelines, and escalating any safeguarding or moderation concerns in line with organisational policies. The role also involves supporting outreach and recruitment for game-making courses and workshops aimed at children and young people. The participant will work alongside delivery staff during sessions and events and must be comfortable interacting with young people, parents, educators, and community partners in a professional and supportive manner. In addition, the postholder will assist with general administrative tasks such as maintaining contact databases, tracking engagement and attendance, scheduling posts, and reporting on marketing and community activity. This role is designed as a supported training opportunity, with structured learning and mentoring to build practical marketing, communication, and community management skills within the games and creative industries.
Responsibilities
- Support the marketing and promotion of in-house game projects across digital platforms including Discord, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Assist with community management and moderation, helping to maintain safe, inclusive, and well-managed online spaces.
- Create and schedule basic marketing content such as posts, images, short videos, and updates.
- Respond to messages, comments, and enquiries in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Support outreach and recruitment for game-making courses and creative programmes for children and young people.
- Assist delivery staff during workshops, events, and public activities involving young people.
- Carry out general administrative tasks, including updating databases, maintaining mailing lists, scheduling posts, and tracking engagement.
- Work closely with the team to support day-to-day marketing, communication, and programme activity.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Interest in the games industry, digital media, or creative technologies.
- Basic digital literacy and confidence using social media platforms.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised approach to tasks and ability to follow guidance and procedures.
- Willingness to learn new tools, platforms, and ways of working.
- Ability to work as part of a team and respond positively to feedback.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience using platforms such as Discord, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or LinkedIn.
- Interest in marketing, community management, or digital communications.
- Experience supporting or volunteering with children or young people.
- Basic understanding of online safety, moderation, or community guidelines.
- Familiarity with creative or educational programmes.
- Basic administrative experience, such as data entry or scheduling.

The Employer is: KIPPIE CIC JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
