Trainee Knitting Operator
Job description
A Trainee knitting operator will learn to sets up, run, and monitors automatic machinery that produces knitted fabrics from yarn. Key duties include threading machines, troubleshooting faults, inspecting quality, and conducting basic maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Supply the machines with the correct yarn.
- Inspect the fabric/socks being produced on the machines.
- Effectively communicating any faults/or machine downtime.
- Fix press off’s/needles etc.
- Maintain the housekeeping within the Department/cleanliness of the machines.
- Must have high attention to detail and a very high focus on quality and accuracy. prepared to carry out routine tasks time and time again.
- Must be very co-operative.
- Participate in all job training and coaching.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations at all times.
- Ensure good working relations with colleagues.
- Ensure that absenteeism and tardiness are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure that company polices are adhered to always, this includes Equal Opportunities Policy, Harassment Policy, Health and Safety Policy and Training Policy.
- Any other reasonable duties requested.

Essential Skills
- GCSE level to include English and Math.
- Organisational skills.
- Communication skills.
- Computer literate.

- Experience in the textiles industry.
