Personal Care Assistant
Job description
Seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support a young male in his daily activities, promoting independence and providing assistance to the individual to access and participate in a range of community activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide support with daily living tasks and meal preparation
- Assistance to health care appointments and to help facilitate communication between the individual and healthcare providers
- Follow care plans and report any changes or concerns
- Assist with physical activity and occupational therapy exercises and aids
- Provide support to access a variety of social and recreational activities
- To encourage to maintain client’s interests and hobbies
- Provide companionship and offer emotional support to client during activities
- Accompanying and assisting the individual in a work place setting and with work related issues
- Ensure client's safety and comfort during outings and activities
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience or qualifications in healthcare, social work or a related field preferable but not essential
- Ability to work independently
- Compassion and empathy towards individuals facing challenges or disabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to adapt to change schedules
- Full clean UK Drivers Licence with access to/own vehicle
Further Information
Work Time: Approximately 4-6 hours per week. Shifts available are variable hours can be flexible and discussed with the employer. Access NI to be undertaken.
