Job description
To assist in the provision of a training service in the area of restraint reduction. To be responsible for the delivery and to assist with the development of allocated training which is required by clinical staff within the division. This will be carried out in accordance with the requirement of awarding bodies. The post holder will be responsible for carrying out audits in relation to clinical practice in the division, as directed by line manager. To provide support to staff and guidance on risk assessments for patients/clients who display challenging behaviour through evidence based research and risk management approaches. This will involve the teaching of skills that will help staff deliver a person-centred service to patients/clients with the minimum risk to all. The post holder will work in conjunction with fellow certified instructors and nurse managers to develop and co-ordinate the risk assessment and risk management process within the division in relation to promoting restraint reduction strategies. To deputise for the lead certified instructor in representing the organisation, operationally, in relation to Safety Intervention training and interface with provider/s and with management as appropriate and according to sphere of professional responsibility and national and local guidance to achieve the strategic aims of the organisation.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Mental Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse on Live NMC Register, Part 1 Level 1.
