Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: MARTIN HURLS LTD The Workshop & Order Fulfilment Assistant is a new, entry-level role created to support the day-to-day running of a growing manufacturing and online retail business. The role provides hands-on experience in product finishing, order fulfilment, and customer support, with structured training and supervision throughout. This role does not involve machinery or power tools and is carried out in designated safe areas of the workshop. There is potential for continued employment following the placement, subject to performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Gripping and taping hurling sticks.
  • Oiling, stamping, and finishing hurls.
  • Hand sanding and carrying out final quality checks.
  • Measuring and sizing hurls for customer orders.
  • Assisting with safe movement and organisation of timber and materials.
  • Printing online order paperwork.
  • Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch.
  • Assisting with courier preparation and fulfilment.
  • Supporting seasonal club and bulk orders.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organised workspace.
  • Assisting walk-in customers under supervision.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team.
  • Interest in sport, particularly hurling, camogie, or GAA.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of practical or hands-on work.
  • Basic knowledge of hurling or GAA.
  • Good communication skills.
