Job description

The post holder will be responsible for the professional and nurse clinical leadership within the Community Mental Health Service. Promote and monitor safe and effective nursing practice. Enhance safe, effective and high quality patient/service user experience. Provide effective nursing leadership. Contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s corporate and divisional objectives. The post holder will work as part of the community mental health service multidisciplinary team within an identified CMHT area and will take a leadership role to positively influence and improve the quality of clinical practice by providing support, supervision, educational and professional development opportunities for staff within the CMHS.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of audit and supporting staff in quality improvement plans to promote patient safety.
• Providing a supportive role to all staff undertaking the practice assessor/practice supervisor role within student nurse education.
• They will assist in the ongoing development of the service including the oversight of professional nurse supervision to ensure the delivery of performance management objectives and governance requirements.
• To take a lead role in the provision of clinical leadership and caseload supervision for team. They will be expected to act as a positive role model in promoting clinical excellence.
• Develop confidence and competence within the team for managing complex clinical cases and issues.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• RN (Mental Health) Qualification and be currently registered on part 1 of the NMC Live Register (Mental Health).

Desirable Skills

• Experience working in community mental health teams.
• Evidence of Completion of Specialist Practice Mental Health Nursing or Non-Medical prescribing.
