Facilities Assistant

THE EMPLOYER IS: IRFU ULSTER BRANCH The Facilities Assistant is responsible for maintaining high cleaning standards and ensuring the upkeep of facilities services throughout Affidea Stadium. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the post holder will carry out cleaning duties and assist with stadium maintenance as directed. This role is based at Ulster Rugby, Affidea Stadium, 134 Mount Merrion Avenue, Belfast, BT6 0FT.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning floors, staircases, carpets, toilets etc, and where appropriate sweeping, mopping, polishing, brushing, scrubbing, burnishing, or vacuuming.
  • Set up rooms and event spaces for meetings and events including moving furniture, cleaning the rooms for events, cleaning and checking toilets etc.
  • Clean windows, glass balustrades and mirrors.
  • Dust and polish furniture, wash walls, skirting boards, doors and frames, windowsills and office type equipment with suitable cleaning products for surface.
  • Assist with weekly fire alarm tests, and annual fire evacuation drills.
  • Cutting grass, hedges, bushes, collecting leaves etc around the stadium.
  • Moving equipment and goods around the stadium..
  • Maintain an awareness of company health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Work in a safe, clean and tidy manner.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Willing to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role, including health & safety and manual handling training.
  • Please note the role involves lifting, carrying, standing for long periods, and performing manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in a facilities, cleaning, or maintenance role.
  • Experience working in an events environment.
  • Experience using outdoor maintenance tools.
