Trainee Events Coordinator


Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: BNL PRODUCTIONS LTD As a Trainee Events Coordinator, you will be part of the team that helps plan and deliver fun public events such as Christmas Light Switch-Ons, St Patrick's Day celebrations, and local festivals. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, being organised, and getting involved in creative activities. You do not need previous events experience - full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and organising a variety of community events and festivals.
  • Support the coordination of event logistics, including equipment, scheduling, suppliers, and on-site crew.
  • Help with event set-up, on-site operations during events, and post-event pack-down.
  • Communicate with performers, suppliers, partners, and community organisations under team guidance.
  • Assist with booking talent and preparing stage and activity schedules.
  • Track and manage event equipment, props, and materials to ensure they are organised and available.
  • Maintain accurate event documentation, records, and administrative files.
  • Follow health, safety, and event-management procedures to support safe event delivery.
  • Work closely with the events management team, contributing ideas and supporting team tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with performers, suppliers, and the public.
  • Ability to work and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Basic administrative skills, including maintaining records and handling simple documentation.
  • Able to learn, take direction, and develop new skills in events coordination.
  • Basic IT skills, including using email, calendars, and simple office software.
  • Assist with hands-on tasks such as moving equipment during set-up and pack-down.
