Senior Project Worker


Job description

To assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective and efficient management of mental health & addiction services by implementing all statutory and regulatory requirements, managing the budget and resources efficiently and supporting the Manager, Deputy Manager and staff team to achieve the organisational strategy. The Senior Project Worker will assist the Manager and Deputy Manager to promote and implement Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach.

Responsibilities

  • Forming effective relationships and liaising with external agencies as required.
  • Actively promote Service User involvement.
  • Advocate for Service Users as required.
  • Co-ordinate, support and accompany Service Users on outreach activities as required.
  • Plan, develop, risk assess, deliver, and evaluate individual or group work activities (including those of a therapeutic nature), both within the Scheme and in the community.
  • Support the Manager and Deputy Manager to organise the provision of support for service users including; staff rotas and the allocation of duties and key worker responsibilities.
  • Support junior staff, liaise with colleagues and managers / other professional personnel to report and record progress or difficulties and in particular any issues of concern, unusual behaviour or deterioration in health.
  • In the absence of a Manager and Deputy Manager, deputise for the service by ensuring that the general duties, necessary reports and documentation are completed within the timeframes as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis. Early shift, late shift, to include week ends, night cover, sleeping or awake as required to meet the needs of the scheme and on-call rota.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a car, business insurance will be required. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
  • A Professional qualification for example: Professional Social Work Qualification and registered on the appropriate part of NISCC.
  • First level registered Nurse on the appropriate part of nursing and midwifery council register. A qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC AND
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a health and social care setting Or,
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a related subject for eg care plus a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a social care setting.
  • Experience of liaising with statutory and other voluntary agencies.
  • Have proven experience of motivating Services Users.
