Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: SEACOURT PRINT WORKSHOP This is a public facing role and the individual will be the first person to meet visitors and programme participants when they come to Seacourt. We welcome and encourage people to become a part of the creative community here. The successful candidate will prepare the building for visitors and ensure that it looks attractive. They will ensure the day-to-day cleanliness and tidiness of the spaces, assisting in all aspects of preparation of for workshops, hires, events and exhibitions. They will ensure the shop is merchandised and take sales. Reporting to the Programmes and Communications Officer and will work with all team members to ensure that visitors have the best possible experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Seacourt for visitors by ensuring high standards of presentation, cleanliness, tidiness and that it looks welcoming.
- Welcome visitors offering materials for exhibitions, directing them to the appropriate space or team members, signing them up to our mailing list and being on hand to ensure they have what they need.
- Respond to public enquiries (in person and email) and when required escalating these to the appropriate member of the team.
- Take sales of gifts and artworks recording the items sold, restocking inventory, merchandising and highlighting sales trends to help grow this part of the business.
- Work with the team as directed preparing spaces for participants and workshops, ensuring all resources required are ready and setting up rooms and clearing as needed.
- Take responsibility for regular tasks such as bin collection, kitchen supplies, daily replenishment of resources such as soap, toilet roll, filling the water dispensers and ensure any necessary spot cleaning is undertaken quickly.
- Assist in the purchase and preparation of materials for workshops, events, gallery receptions and Late-Night Art.
- Be responsible for the opening and closing the centre at designated times according to our safety protocols.
- Supervise Late Night Art and other events, working with volunteers who support our service delivery building an engaged knowledgeable team.
- Be available to work on occasional evenings and weekends as the programme requires.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A demonstrable interest in art and community engagement.
- Experience of working with the public.
- Experience of using Microsoft suite and point of sale.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload and stay calm under pressure.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.
- Ability to lift, carry, organise and tidy.
- Adaptable and ready to learn.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of working in a front of house or retail role delivering excellent customer service.

The Employer is: SEACOURT PRINT WORKSHOP JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
