THE EMPLOYER IS: CASTLE COMMUNITY TRUST We are seeking a Part-Time Community Support Worker to assist our Community Engagement Officer and Community Housing Rights Officer. The role involves supporting community outreach initiatives, engaging with local residents, and helping deliver workshops and events. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, liaising with service users, and providing practical support to ensure residents access relevant housing and community services. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a commitment to social justice, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexible hours and a supportive environment are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Community Engagement Officer and Community Housing Rights Officer with day-to-day tasks.
  • Support community outreach activities and engagement events.
  • Provide practical assistance and guidance to local residents on housing and community services.
  • Help organise workshops, meetings, and community events.
  • Maintain accurate records and update administrative systems.
  • Liaise with service users, stakeholders, and partner organisations.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide information in a clear and friendly manner.
  • Contribute to reports and feedback to help improve community support services.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic administrative and IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, email).
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about housing rights and community services.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience supporting community projects or social initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience engaging with diverse or vulnerable groups.
  • Experience assisting with housing or community services.
  • Proven ability to organise events, workshops, or community activities.
  • Experience handling enquiries and providing practical guidance to residents.
  • Familiarity with local community networks and voluntary organisations.
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and reporting outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a dynamic community environment.
