Lead Service Technician

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all machinery prior to customer delivery and be the first point of contact for service work, breakdowns and maintenance. You will work closely with production engineers and assembly line technicians ensuring machinery leaving the factory meets all SpreadPoint quality checks. This role is part factory / part field based with potential for travel.
Responsibilities
- Pre-delivery inspection of new machinery before customer delivery.
- Service and maintenance of SpreadPoint machinery (in factory and customer sites).
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults.
- Build strong relationships with customers, ensuing an excellent service experience.
- A high focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Report factory defects and assist with solutions.
- Ability to adapt and learn new tools/ techniques as needed and a willingness to embrace change.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical engineering work.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams effectively.
- Skilled at providing excellent customer service, on-site and over the phone.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure as well as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence or equivalent.
Desirable Skills
- Basic vehicle electronic knowledge.
- CANBUS knowledge.
- Knowledge of LEAN production practices.
