THE EMPLOYER IS: CRISSCROSS REMOVALS & STORAGE We are currently recruiting a Removals Porter to support our removals teams on residential and commercial moves. This is a hands-on role involving the safe handling, protection, and transportation of customers’ belongings. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced drivers and team leaders, receiving full training in professional removals techniques, health and safety, and furniture handling. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys physical work, learning new skills, and being part of a team. No previous experience is required. Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and unloading furniture and household items.
• Safely carry items into and out of properties, including upstairs and confined spaces.
• Protect furniture, floors, doors and walls using professional protection materials.
• Assist with dismantling and reassembling furniture under supervision.
• Support the correct sequencing of removals including room-by-room loading.
• Help secure loads safely withing the vehicles of transport.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, equipment and work areas.
• Follow all health and safety and manual handling processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Capable of carrying heavy items safely.
• Willingness to learn manual handling and removals techniques.
• Strong work effort.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Comfortable working in customers' homes and businesses.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in removals, warehouse, construction or manual work.
• Basic experience using hand tools.
• Understanding of furniture dismantling and re-assembly.
• Driving licence.

Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
