Inpatient Diabetes Specialist Nurse
Job description
Promote and support Inpatient wards and departments within Causeway hospital with timely diabetes management advice and patient education. Post holder will provide a highly specialist resource providing clinical expertise in care, advice and support within the specialist area of Diabetes. Lead and/or work within the multi-disciplinary team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated approach to person-centred care, across the clinical pathway, and timely onward referral to other professionals and agencies as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Lead in providing a person-centred holistic approach to assess the physical, psychological and social needs of the patient/client, families and carers.
- Proactively advance the modernisation agenda of the Diabetes Service for patients and the development of the nursing service to achieve person-centred care.
- Lead and/or participate in the provision of expert advice in developing, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures and protocols which meet national, regional and local requirements.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered nurse: first level or BSc(Hons) in Nursing and live on NMC register.

Further Information
Location: Antrim Hospital Site Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per annum pro rata
