Job description
The primary role of the Accounts Officer is, as part of a specialist team working in designated geographical areas, to provide administrative and investigatory role with regard to a range of accounts including: current tenancies, possession use and occupation, former tenant debt and legal costs as allocated by the Line Manager, in line with agreed Income Collection Unit/Designated Business Unit responsibilities. The Accounts officer will take approved appropriate actions when all reasonable and feasible attempts to recover debt have been exhausted whilst fulfilling the following purpose for customers: ‘Provide me with support when I need it to help me pay my rent and sustain my tenancy’. Under the guidance and instruction of the Line Manager, the Accounts Officer will take the necessary actions to recover debt and progress cases following the issue of a Notice of Intention to end an Introductory Tenancy (NOI) or Notice Seeking Possession of a secure tenancy (NSP) by the Line Manager.
Responsibilities
- The Accounts Officer will seek to ensure the maximum income collection and recovery of debt owed to the Housing Executive through swift and cost effective approved debt recovery and enforcement action.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Hold a BTEC Higher or equivalent qualification PLUS one year’s relevant general administrative experience.
