Job description

As a CAD Technician you will be responsible for producing accurate 2D/3D technical drawings for our water / wastewater contracts and sales departments. The post holder will be responsible for Co-Ordinating / Updating and checking engineering drawings within the company. They will be a key member of various project teams helping develop concept drawings and supporting documentation right through to as built drawings and project closure. This role will also assist with the daily management and support of the Contracts, Sales and Projects Department.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the provision of the company’s ISO Quality, Environmental and Health Safety Procedures.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and plans for projects using Auto CAD and other design software.
  • Co-ordinate Project Drawings with internal team and external designers.
  • Attend and contribute to design and progress meetings.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management on progress, and timelines.
  • Review and modify existing drawings as necessary.
  • Deliver results on time, within constraints and in line with company policy and procedures.
  • Visit site as and when required.
  • Overcome unforeseen issues and develop specific design solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Qualification in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Autocad drawing software 2D and 3D.
  • Experience of working with external contractors / design consultants.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, word and excel.

Desirable Skills

  • Proven CAD experience within M&E environment and in the construction / water industry (desirable).
